At Breeze Laser Center, there are two primary options for spider vein treatment:
- Laser Vein Treatment
Spider veins, birthmarks, and other skin irregularities are rarely harmful to your health, but their appearance can often be distressing and detrimental to self-esteem. Breeze Laser Center offers several skin therapies, including Photo Rejuvenation treatments with the Palomar Icon, to help reduce the appearance of veins and other skin abnormalities.
What are Spider Veins?
Spider veins are thin blood vessels that are usually red, blue, or purple in color. They normally have a twisted or branched appearance, like spider webs, and can cover large or small areas of skin. They are easily visible through the skin, and usually appear on the legs and face.
What Causes Spider Veins?
Spider veins can be caused by a variety of environmental or genetic factors. Some lifestyle or environmental factors that can contribute to spider veins are lack of exercise, sun exposure, hormonal changes, obesity, a history of blood clots, or occupations that require long periods of standing.
Spider Vein Treatment at Breeze Laser Center
If you are tired of feeling self-conscious or trying to hide your spider veins, the associates at Breeze Laser Center can educate you about the available treatment options. We offer an innovative treatment called Photo Rejuvenation, or IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) with the Palomar Icon, to help reduce the appearance of veins, rosacea, birthmarks, and other skin irregularities.
While the presence of spider veins on your legs is usually not a medical concern, these small, highly visible clusters of dark purple, blue or red veins can be cosmetically unappealing. At Breeze Laser Center, our sclerotherapy treatments safely and comfortably eliminate spider veins and restore natural beauty to your skin.

For small varicose and spider veins, sclerotherapy is often considered the most effective treatment. During sclerotherapy, a medicinal solution is directly injected into affected veins. The solution causes the walls of theveins to swell shut and block the flow of blood.
Over a short period of time, the treated veins collapse, causing the blood supply to reroute to healthier veins. The collapsed veins turn to scar tissue and are absorbed by the body, eventually fading.
Sclerotherapy is performed in our office and is a comfortable, well-tolerated procedure that typically requires no anesthesia. It is also fast, often taking less than an hour and making it an easy treatment to fit into a busy schedule.
When Will I See Results?
The results of sclerotherapy are permanent, but it may take anywhere from three to six weeks for treated veins to completely disappear. Immediately after treatment, most patients return to normal activities, but compression stockings may need to be worn for a few weeks to maintain compression on treated areas.
Larger veins may take a longer period of time to disappear. Although treated veins are eliminated permanently, it is possible for new veins to grow in their place.
Are There Any Side Effects?
After the solution is injected, you will remain lying down for an additional 15-20 minutes and injection sites will be observed for signs of complications. You will then get up and walk around in order to help circulation and prevent any blood clots from forming.
Minor bruising and swelling are common at injection sites after treatment, and will quickly subside. During your consultation, our medical team will discuss all possible risks and complications with you, and help you determine if sclerotherapy is right for you.
Before a sclerotherapy treatment, it is often advised to avoid shaving or applying any lotions to your legs. Wearing loose, comfortable clothing, where your legs are exposed is also a good idea during treatment.

Laser Vein Treatment
Laser vein treatment is one of the most popular options for the non-surgical removal of spider veins. This advanced technology works by emitting pulses of laser energy into the skin, which bypass the surface and are absorbed by the targeted veins. The laser energy is then converted to heat, which causes the veins to permanently seal shut. The blood flow is redirected to other, healthier veins, and the treated veins are gradually removed by the body’s natural removal process.
Are There Any Side Effects?
Laser vein treatment is a well-tolerated treatment performed at our office in Orlando and can completely remove visible veins from beneath the skin surface without surgery or downtime. Treated areas may appear slightly flushed and although there is typically no necessary aftercare, a walking regimen may be recommended to maintain good circulation as the body works to remove the veins.
When Will I See Results?
Multiple treatment sessions may be necessary fortotal vein clearance, and not all cases qualify for treatment. The best way to determine laser vein treatment is right for you is to call us today at our Orlando location to schedule a consultation.
